    Description

    Offered for sale is one of the RAREST pieces of Depression Glass that I have in my collection.  I purchased this piece many years ago and I have kept it in a china closet since then.  This is a RARE temple jar with a lid, an item that you never see in Depression Glass.  There are one or two shown in the Rare Glass of the Depression Years books by Gene Florence  but they are few and far between.  This covered temple jar was manufactured by the Cambridge Glass Company around 1925.  The pattern etched onto the temple jar is "Windows Border " which is also known by the pattern number of 704.  This pattern is shown in the great book "Elegant Glassware of the Depression Years" (13th edition) by Gene Florence on pages 172 & 173.  There is no temple jar listed as it is unknown or rare in this pattern (and in all patterns).  As I stated, there are one or two temple jars shown in the Rare Depression Glass Books and they run in the 450-500 dollar range.  I am listing my jar for less although it is beautiful and RARE.  This jar stands 6 3/4 inches tall with the lid on - 5 inches tall with the lid off.  The opening of the jar measures about 4 inches across from outside edge to outside edge.  The lid stands about 2 1/2 inches tall and measures about 4 3/8 inches across.  The top of this jar was ground during manufacturing and the lid fits on top of it.  The condition is EXCELLENT with no chips, no cracks, no roughness.  Please see the photos and ask any questions before making a purchase.  I do offer a money-back guarantee but this is really amazing and I think that you will LOVE IT.
